We are trying something new, 2 presentations. The topic of both is fiossils.

The first, at ~6:45pm, will be a short video about one of the world's most famous fossil beds, the Burgess Shale. Located on the east slope of the Canadian Rockies along the border between Alberta and British Columbia, this 500 million year old site is preserved and protected inside Canada's Yoho National Park. The Burgess Shale includes multiple layers of fossils stacked ~150 meters high. Over 60,000 unique fossils species have been found there, including full imprints of soft bodied creatures never known before.

In the second, at ~7:30pm, Jay Tinker will give a short presentation on locally collectable fossils. Jay has made several presentations in the past and usually has many excellent fossils to show.

A short club business meeting will follow the programs.

As always, visitors are welcome and encouraged to take part in all club activities.

For those of you who are new to the club, visit Google Maps for directions from where you are to Shoppingtown. Once you get to Shoppingtown, the club house is here.
